The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on December 21, 2025, denied reports in Bangladesh media that claimed threats were made against Bangladesh’s diplomats in New Delhi. MEA called these reports "misleading propaganda." MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said about 20-25 youths gathered on December 20 in front of the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi. They protested the "horrendous" killing of minority Hindu community member Dipu Chandra Das in Mymensingh. The group also called for the protection of all minorities in Bangladesh. The police at the site dispersed the group after a few minutes. Jaiswal said officials remain in contact with Bangladesh authorities and have expressed strong concern over attacks on minorities. He added, "We have also urged that the perpetrators of the barbaric killing of Das be brought to justice." Earlier, Amar Desh newspaper claimed a group from Akhand Hindu Sena crossed security barricades, threatened to "shoot him to death," and demonstrated aggressively at the Bangladesh High Commission gate. The Bangladesh High Commissioner Riaz Hamidullah and his family were home at the time. MEA rejected this, stating visual evidence is publicly available showing the police quickly controlled the situation. MEA reaffirmed India’s commitment to the safety of foreign missions as per the Vienna Convention.
