The K.V. Rao Centre for Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics was inaugurated at Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha School of Engineering, Vijayawada, on Monday. This new centre was opened as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education. Key guests included Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu, Deputy Speaker K. Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, and Kakinada Seaports chairman K.V. Rao. Andhra Pradesh Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu highlighted the critical need for cybersecurity in governance and public safety. He said, "Institutions of higher education must play a proactive role in producing skilled cyber professionals to safeguard national digital infrastructure." Deputy Speaker K. Raghu Rama Krishna Raju praised the academy’s move to launch the centre, saying, "There is an urgent need for cyber awareness and digital forensics expertise in the era of rapid digitisation." K.V. Rao, after whom the centre is named, expressed confidence that the facility would help create industry-ready professionals equipped to meet modern challenges. The new centre aims to address the growing demand for cybersecurity experts as digital threats rise nationwide.
