Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin wished farmers well on National Farmers Day on Tuesday. In a post on X, he shared key actions by his government to support agriculture. These include a separate Agriculture Budget, trade fairs, exhibitions, the Uzhavan mobile app, and free electricity connections for farmers. He said Tamil Nadu has kept breaking records in farm production. Mr. Stalin also took a strong stand against the central government, which he accused of having "anti-farmer policies." He said, "We are fighting against the anti-farmer policies of the Union government and safeguarding farmers’ welfare." He added that protests would be held on December 24 to condemn the BJP-led Centre for weakening the MGNREGA scheme. He warned that this move harms the livelihood of agricultural labourers. The CM’s message highlights ongoing farmer support in Tamil Nadu while marking a political clash over national farm policies.
