In a colorful tribal ceremony on Wednesday, the deities Pagididda Raju and Govinda Raju were reinstalled on newly built sacred platforms called Gadde at the Medaram Sammakka-Sarakka shrine. The ritual began with the Koya priests, known as Vaddes, installing Govinda Raju first, followed by Pagididda Raju, amid traditional drumbeats and dances. Tribals from the clans of both deities gathered to witness the event. The ceremony included the presence of local MLA and Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), District Collector TS Divakara, SP Sudhir R Kekan, and other officials. Strict security kept devotees from entering the gadde area during installation. Priests of the shrine and their families performed traditional pujas. Minister Seethakka said, "The tribal way of life and the history of Sammakka-Saralamma are etched in stones used to construct the platforms and the compound of the shrine. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is undertaking these development works like a sacred yagna. Some people are criticising and insulting our traditions, which is wrong." She also noted that during renovation, many meetings were held with tribal priests and elders to respect their views. Seethakka added it will be easier for devotees to have darshan, as the forest deities are now in the same line. She mentioned the tribe's strong bond with Bandaru (turmeric powder) and that the main deity Sammakka belonged to Bandari clan.
