Three people, including two traffic police officers, died in an explosion in Moscow. The incident happened on Yeletskaya Street when the officers saw a suspicious individual near a police car. As they tried to detain him, an explosive device went off, the Russian Investigative Committee said. The officers, named by the media as Ilya Klimanov, 24, and Maxim Gorbunov, 25, died from their injuries along with a bystander. This blast occurred close to where Lt Gen Fanil Sarvarov was killed in a car bombing on Monday. Sarvarov, 56, led the armed forces' operational training department and was the third military official killed in bomb attacks in Moscow over the past year. Russia suspects Ukraine's involvement in Sarvarov's death, but Ukraine has not confirmed this. It is unclear if the two explosions are related. Investigative Committee spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko said on Telegram that a criminal case is ongoing regarding an attack on traffic police officers. A nearby resident named Alexander told Reuters, "There was an explosion. It was loud bang - like with the car a few days ago."
