Violence continues in Bangladesh as tensions rise across the country. On Wednesday evening around 7pm, Saiful was killed by a crude bomb hurled from a flyover in Dhaka’s Moghbazar area. Inspector Md Mohiuddin of Hatirjheel Police Station confirmed the details to The Daily Star, saying, "Saiful was having tea at a roadside stall when a crude bomb, hurled from the flyover above, struck him." This tragic event adds to the unrest following the death of Sharif Osman Hadi. Hadi was a key student activist who died in Singapore after an assassination attempt in Dhaka. His death shook the nation and led interim leader Muhammad Yunus to vow justice without leniency for those responsible. Hadi had been a leading figure in the protests that brought down Sheikh Hasina's government last year. The violence worsened with the lynching of Dipu Chandra Das, a Hindu youth from the minority community in Mymensingh. Das was attacked by a mob over alleged blasphemy and his body burned. This sparked protests by factory workers, students, and rights groups across Bangladesh. The mob attack and Das’s killing happened around the same time as the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, deepening the national crisis.
