A private bus driver named Sachin saved 43 schoolchildren during a serious accident on December 25 in Karnataka's Chitradurga district. Sachin, from Holenarasipur, was driving children from a Bengaluru school to Dandeli for a study tour. A truck coming from the opposite direction crossed the divider and hit a sleeper bus. This caused the sleeper bus to crash into Sachin's bus. Sachin quickly moved his bus off the road, crossing fencing, and parked safely on the service road. All children in his bus remained safe, though Sachin had a minor head injury. The bus owner arranged another bus so the trip could continue. Kariyanna, a local resident, said, "The driver deserves appreciation for his skills. He managed the situation well, and ensured the safety of the schoolchildren."
