The United Arab Emirates has emerged as a global leader in 2025, topping many key international rankings across various sectors. The UAE ranked 5th in the IMD World Competitiveness Ranking 2025 with a high score of 96.09, moving up two places from 2024. This marks the ninth consecutive year it leads the Middle East in competitiveness. In the Global Soft Power Index 2025, the UAE achieved 10th place worldwide. Its Nation Brand value also rose from $1 trillion to $1.223 trillion, showing growing global influence. The UNDP Human Development Index ranked the UAE 15th globally, the only Arab country in the top 20. Talent development made a strong leap with the UAE placing 9th in the IMD World Talent Rankings 2025, thanks to workforce readiness and international appeal. In healthcare, the UAE topped the Health Inclusivity Index globally and ranks in the top five for person-centred care while being second in inclusive health system implementation. On the technology front, the UAE ranked first for telecommunications infrastructure and digital government frameworks in the State of Digital Transformation Report. It also secured top spots in AI governance and digital service delivery. The country ranks 11th in both digital competitiveness and e-government development indexes. Safety and business environment remain strong, with the UAE named the safest country globally by the Numbeo Safety Index 2025. It was also ranked the best nation for entrepreneurship among 56 countries for the fourth year in a row by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Report 2024/2025. Foreign investment pours in, with the UAE ranking 10th worldwide in FDI inflows, attracting AED 167.6 billion ($45.6 billion) in 2024, according to the UNCTAD World Investment Report 2025. The UAE’s remarkable rise across economic, social, technological, and safety measures underscores its growing stature as a regional and global powerhouse.
