Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has extended the free parking time at Terminal 1 arrival area of Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. The free parking duration at pickup zones P3 and P4 was increased from 10 minutes to 15 minutes starting December 26, 2025. BIAL explained, "We have extended the free parking duration at Terminal 1 arrival pick-up areas P3 and P4 from 10 minutes to 15 minutes. This enhancement is designed to provide greater ease and flexibility for passengers and their families, while supporting smoother traffic flow and a more seamless arrival experience." To help passengers move easily, BIAL has also introduced shuttles running every 7 minutes, along with 6 cars and 10 buggies ferrying people to and from the pickup zones. This system ensures frequent and assisted transfers for arriving passengers. Earlier, since December 13, commercial vehicles could wait for up to 10 minutes for free in these zones. Now the free period has been increased to 15 minutes. After that, cab drivers will be charged ₹100 for the first 30 minutes and ₹50 for every extra hour. This update comes after some criticism of the earlier pickup rules, aiming to make the arrival experience smoother and quicker for everyone.
