A major fire erupted in a plywood factory at Methala near Perumbavoor on Friday, December 26, 2025. The fire started around 1 pm and spread fast, destroying machinery and raw materials. The factory suffered losses worth lakhs of rupees. Workers escaped safely after seeing sparks, so no one was hurt. Eight fire and rescue units rushed to the spot and put out the fire. The cause of the blaze is still unknown.
