Nalin Haley mocks H-1B visa delays in India, demands a total ban
December 28, 2025
Nalin Haley, son of Nikki Haley, joined the online mocking of the H-1B visa troubles faced by Indians stuck in India. Thousands returned home for visa stamping but found all US consulate appointments delayed by at least six months. "Indians can't be 'standed' in India," Nalin Haley said, reflecting common anti-H-1B views.
He added, "The Indian government took up the issue with the US government because 'they want their remittance money'." Haley pushed for tougher action, saying, "Delaying visas is good but not good enough. We need a complete H-1B visa ban."
Known for his anti-H-1B stance, Haley claims his college friends struggle to get jobs in today's economy, so America should stop hiring foreigners.
The current delay has created major chaos. Many H-1B workers flew to India as the US now requires visa stamping in the home country. But after arriving, they found their appointments postponed to 2026. Without a new visa stamp, they cannot return to work in the US. Some travelers with valid visas were shocked to learn their visas were revoked upon arrival.
Since December 15, H-1B and dependent H-4 applicants face social media vetting. While some MAGA supporters push for a full H-1B ban, the US administration plans a new wage-based selection system. This system will prioritize applicants with higher wages instead of using a random lottery.
The visa delays are causing confusion and uncertainty, affecting thousands of Indian H-1B visa holders caught far from home.
