Eight wagons of a goods train derailed between Lahabon and Simultala stations in Bihar's Jamui district late Saturday night, officials said. The accident happened around 11:25 p.m. under the Asansol division of Eastern Railways. "No casualties have been reported so far," officials added. This derailment disrupted railway services on the important Howrah-Patna-Delhi route, affecting about two dozen trains overnight and causing significant passenger inconvenience. To tackle the situation, accident relief trains were sent from Asansol, Madhupur, and Jhajha stations. Restoration work is in progress to clear the tracks and resume normal train movement.
