The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) announced locations for its 12 Zonal and 60 Circle offices on Saturday. This follows an earlier reorganization that expanded GHMC from 6 Zones, 30 Circles, and 150 Wards to 12 Zones, 60 Circles, and 300 Wards, after merging 27 Urban Local Bodies into the GHMC. On Friday, the new Zonal Commissioners officially took charge of their posts. The office locations for the Zones and Circles were shared the next day. Meanwhile, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan issued orders transferring and posting 60 Deputy Executive Engineers to the Solid Waste Management (SWM) wing. These changes aim to strengthen waste management across the newly expanded municipal area. According to a press release, this restructuring will boost the efficiency of solid waste services in the fast-growing Greater Hyderabad region, improving civic amenities for residents.
