Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) has completed India’s biggest tender for 10,900 electric buses under the PM E-DRIVE Scheme. This major project aims to reduce more than 4 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions in five key cities. The electric buses will also lower noise pollution and improve air quality. Akhilesh Kumar Dixit, CEO of CESL, thanked the Ministries of Heavy Industries and Power for their support in ensuring a transparent tendering process. Andhra Pradesh is set to receive 750 electric buses, including 150 for Visakhapatnam. This will boost clean and cost-effective urban mobility in the state, says the CESL press release dated December 28, 2025.
