ED Files Third Complaint Against Wife in International Drug Trafficking Case Involving Dark Web and Crypto
December 29, 2025
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a third prosecution complaint against Amarpreet Kaur Chawla. She is wife of Banmeet Singh, accused in an international drug trafficking ring active in the US, UK, and Europe. During investigations, ED found more assets linked to Amarpreet, including immovable properties bought by Banmeet Singh in her name. Last year, ED attached assets worth ₹9.68 crore. The probe began following a request from U.S. authorities. The ED said, “The brothers named Banmeet Singh and Parvinder Singh, along with others, were operating an international drug trafficking group named the Singh DTO (Drug Trafficking Organisation).” Both brothers are arrested and in judicial custody. The syndicate sold drugs using vendor sites on the dark web, free ads on websites, and a network of distributors. The ED stated, “The Singh Organisation trafficked drugs on the dark web, and the proceeds were laundered via cryptocurrency transactions.” Banmeet and Parvinder used the name ‘Liston’ on dark web markets like Silk Road 1, Alpha Bay, and Hansa. The ED seized around 268.22 Bitcoins worth ₹130 crore from disclosures made by Parvinder Singh. Earlier prosecution complaints against the brothers were filed last year. In March 2025, a court framed charges against Banmeet Singh.
