Around 170 sheep died mysteriously near the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal area in Lucknow. The deaths followed an event held nearby. Charu Khare, founder of the NGO Aasra The Helping Hands Trust, informed the Madiaon police station. She said, "Prima facie, it is not clear whether these sheep died after consuming waste material or some unknown person had allegedly given poison to them." Samples from the dead sheep have been sent for post-mortem examination to find the cause of death, said Madiaon SHO Shivanand Mishra. Ms. Khare called the incident "very serious" and "sensitive," urging a thorough investigation. She said, "If any laxity is found or there is a confirmation of poison being given, then strict action should be taken against the accused. Our organisation will extend all possible help in the probe." Authorities are assessing if disease, poisoning, or negligence led to this large-scale animal death. The NGO also raised concerns about possible cruelty and urged quick action to prevent such incidents in the future.
