FaZe Loses Top Creators Amid Investor Clash, Esports Division Promises Stability
December 30, 2025
FaZe Clan is facing a big shake-up. Nearly a dozen top content creators including Adapt, Jason, Ronaldo, Lacy, Rage, and Silky have left the group. The departures follow claims of disputes with Matt Kalish, CEO of HardScope and a major FaZe investor. HardScope wanted creators to sign with them as FaZe tries to fix financial issues. This is a big hit for FaZe's influencer side.
However, FaZe’s esports division is unaffected by this chaos. It remains focused on competitions and building strong teams. FaZe Esports posted on X, "We remain our own separate operation, and our focus stays the same – bringing home trophies, building world class rosters, and putting on a show for the best fans in esports. We can’t wait to get back on stage and into the server in 2026."
Since GameSquare bought FaZe in 2024 for $17 million, the esports team works independently. This separation helps keep esports stable while influencers leave. With less focus on influencers, FaZe can put more money into esports to improve their chances in games like Counter-Strike 2.
Fans are hopeful for a strong FaZe comeback in 2026. The esports division wants to shine by winning competitions and putting on exciting tournaments despite the challenges. FaZe Esports is ready to make a mark as it moves forward.
