Telangana recorded its lowest temperature of 5.6°C in Tiryani, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad between Monday and Tuesday morning. The cold wave is expected to continue across the state on December 31, 2025. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cold wave alert for 10 districts, including Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy. The IMD bulletin says, “Cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets” in these areas. Hyderabad and nearby regions will see partly cloudy skies for the next 24 hours. The bulletin adds, “Fog or misty conditions are very likely to prevail during morning hours. Mist or hazy conditions are very likely to prevail during night hours.” Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 28°C and 14°C respectively. Data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) show that from December 29 to 30, ten districts reported temperatures below 10°C. After Tiryani’s 5.6°C, other low temperatures included 7.3°C in Bheempoor (Adilabad), 7.7°C in Moinabad (Rangareddy), 8.5°C in Mominpet (Vikarabad), and 9°C in Zahirabad (Sangareddy), Pembi (Nirmal), and Gandhari (Kamareddy). Markook (Siddipet) recorded 9.4°C, Narsapur (Medak) 9.7°C, and Ramagiri (Peddapalli) 9.9°C. The remaining 23 districts had temperatures between 10°C and 14°C. In cities, Uppal in Medchal Malkajgiri saw 10.2°C, while Maredpally in Hyderabad recorded 11.6°C. Residents are advised to take precautions as the cold wave continues to grip Telangana.
