Sri Sathya Sai district reported a 2% rise in overall crime in 2025 with 4,028 cases, up from 3,947 in 2024. Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar said the increase was mainly from property crimes, crimes against women, and economic offences. However, serious bodily crimes declined.

Security during the Sri Sathya Sai Baba centenary celebrations, attended by top national leaders, was described as foolproof.
Grievous hurt cases dropped by over 50%, showing better preventive policing. Road accident deaths declined by 11% from 340 to 303, but non-fatal injuries went up 16%.
Crimes against women rose significantly by 26.3%. There was a sharp increase in POCSO cases (47%), harassment (40%), and outraging modesty (24%). However, cases of rape, dowry deaths, and women-related kidnappings decreased.
