Excise enforcement teams in Telangana seized 229 liquor bottles during special checks at Pahadishareef, officials said on December 30. The raids were part of stepped-up efforts ahead of New Year celebrations. Officials received information about liquor being brought in from the airport, Goa, Delhi, and Haryana via the Pahadishareef road. The operation was led by the Rangareddy State Task Force (STF)-B, supported by Saroonagar and Maheshwaram Excise Station staff. All seized bottles were handed to Saroonagar Excise Station for further action under the Excise Act. In a separate operation at Sangareddy main road, teams seized 7.165 litres of liquor illegally imported from Goa. Officials said such drives will continue to curb unlawful liquor trade and enforce excise laws during the holiday season.
