US Sanctions 10 Iran and Venezuela Firms Over Drone and Missile Links
December 31, 2025
On Tuesday, the US government imposed sanctions on 10 people and firms from Iran and Venezuela. They are accused of supporting Iran's drone trade and ballistic missile program. The move aims to back up renewed UN sanctions on Iran's nuclear work. The US says this threatens its interests and allies in the Middle East. Included in the sanctions was Venezuelan company Empresa Aeronautica Nacional SA (EANSA) and its chairman, Jose Jesus Urdaneta Gonzalez. They helped make and support Iranian-designed drones for Venezuela's military. Three Iranian men, including Mostafa Rostami Sani, were targeted for buying chemicals used in missiles. Rostami Sani chairs Pardisan Rezvan Shargh, a company aiding missile chemical procurement. Also sanctioned are Iran-based firms tied to the Rayan Fan Group (RFKA), which is linked to the IRGC's UAV and aerospace sectors. These include Fanavari Electro Moj Mobin, Kavoshgaran Asman Moj Ghadir (KAMG), and executives Bahram Rezaei, Erfan Qaysari, and Mehdi Ghaffari. The Treasury said these steps further squeeze Iran over its disputed nuclear program. Iran states its nuclear efforts are peaceful.
