Security forces recovered a big stock of arms, ammunition, and Maoist materials from Sukma district in Chhattisgarh, police confirmed on December 31, 2025. The arms dump was found on December 30 in a forested hill near Gondpalli village. A joint team from the 159th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force and district police was conducting an anti-Naxal operation from Urssangal camp. The recovered weapons include one bolt-action rifle, three muzzle-loading (bharmaar) guns, and one 12-bore single-barrel rifle. The team seized 150 live rounds of 7.62 mm Self Loading Rifle (SLR) ammunition, 150 rounds of 5.56 mm INSAS rifle bullets, and 100 rounds of .303 rifle cartridges. According to a police official, "The seized arms and ammunition were hidden in a forest by Naxalites to use them against security forces." This recovery disrupts the Maoists’ supplies and supports the ongoing fight against Naxal insurgency in the region.
