On December 31, 2025, Indian Railways announced the successful final high-speed trial of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train. The test was done on the Kota-Nagda section. During this run, the train reached a top speed of 180 kmph. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video of the trial on X, the social media platform. The trial tested many important safety and performance aspects. These included ride stability, vibration, braking, emergency braking, and overall safety systems. The train's performance was called "fully satisfactory" by the Commissioner of Railway Safety. The train used in the trial had 16 coaches and is designed for long journey comfort. It comes loaded with modern passenger facilities. This marks a major step in India’s push for faster and safer rail travel with indigenous technology.
