On early Thursday, a deadly fire broke out at Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana, a top Swiss ski resort in the Alps. The blaze struck during a New Year’s celebration, killing about 40 people and injuring around 100, many seriously. The Swiss police and Italian foreign ministry stated the victims come from several countries. "We are devastated," said Frédéric Gisler, Valais canton police commander. Authorities found no evidence of terrorism or arson. The victims’ identities remain unclear due to severe burns. Police are working to identify the victims and inform their families but say it will take time before releasing precise numbers.
