The Telangana Legislative Assembly will resume its sessions on Friday. A tense and lively debate is expected following Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's fierce attack on former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) during a meeting on Thursday. The main issues will be the Krishna and Godavari river water sharing and the ongoing irrigation projects. The ruling Congress is ready to press these points strongly. CM Revanth Reddy said KCR should come to the Assembly "without apprehension of being heckled by the Treasury benches." He is likely to lead the government's charge, arguing how the BRS mishandled the projects and harmed the state. Opposition leaders, including former ministers T. Harish Rao and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), are expected to defend their party and respond to the government's charges. However, KCR's presence in the House remains uncertain despite repeated calls for him to join the debate. Besides, the government plans to pass a resolution opposing recent changes in the MNREGA scheme. The resolution will argue against the Centre reducing its share from 90% to 60%, saying it burdens the states unfairly.
