Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala spent New Year’s Day at Moonnayini in Akalad, Chavakkad, continuing his Gandhigramam project now in its 16th year. He announced support to set up a community centre using ₹25 lakh from the MPLADS fund of Jebi Mather. Plans were also made to build a home for Mini Dushyanthan, who is homeless. A wheelchair will be given to villager Adithya, along with help for his medical treatment. Heart patient Sandhya will get assistance for her bypass surgery. Mr. Chennithala also pledged to repair poorly maintained houses and buy cycles for 10 students. Additionally, laptops will be provided to three others. This support aims to uplift the local community and provide essential aid for health and education.
