Telangana Govt Boosts Agro and Soya Processing Units with Incentives for Private Firms
January 2, 2026
Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu said the Telangana Government is supporting private entrepreneurs to set up agro-based and soya-based processing units. Various schemes like Telangana–IDEA, T-FAPP, Telangana MSME policy, and PMFME provide financial incentives, infrastructure, and handholding assistance. These help private players promote value-added food processing. The Minister replied to Congress member T. Laxmikantha Rao during the Legislative Assembly's Question Hour on January 2, 2026. He clarified there is no plan for a Government-owned soya processing unit at Jukkal. Instead, private entrepreneurs are encouraged to establish such units using existing policies and incentives from State and Central schemes. The Government aims to boost employment, processing infrastructure, and farmers' value addition through private sector participation.
