Swiss and Italian Teens Missing After Deadly Fire at Swiss Ski Resort Bar
January 2, 2026
A fire tore through the Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, early on New Year's Day. The blaze killed 40 people and injured 119 others. Swiss and Italian teenagers are among those still missing. The Italian foreign ministry said six Italians remain unaccounted for, including 16-year-old junior golfer Emanuele Galeppini. The Italian Golf Federation paid tribute to him, calling him a "young athlete who carried with him passion and authentic values." His father said he was last heard from around midnight at the bar. Another missing Italian teen is Giovanni Tamburi, 16. His mother said he was at the bar with friends. A close friend told her that they escaped after the fire but then he disappeared. She described him wearing a gold chain with a small Madonna. Swiss 16-year-old Arthur Brodard is also missing. His mother is searching hospitals and fears for his life or possible death. She said some of his friends suffered severe burns. Greek-Swiss teen Alice Kallergis, 15, is also missing, along with three friends. Her family has had no news since the fire. Authorities say it may take days or weeks to identify all victims. Families continue to seek information via social media and official channels. The tragedy has shocked the Alpine ski resort community.
