A school teacher named Anil was arrested near Malampuzha for allegedly abusing a student after giving him liquor. Anil is an upper primary teacher at a local school. The incident reportedly happened at his quarters on November 29. The student, who belongs to a scheduled caste community, was made to drink liquor until he became drunk, then was abused by the teacher. The boy told a friend about the abuse, and the friend alerted some local elders. The Police Special Branch started an investigation based on this confidential tip. Police arrested Anil and later produced him before court. Anil was sent to judicial custody.
