Joint Transport Commissioner A. Mohan Urges Two-Wheeler Riders to Wear Helmets for Safety and Legal Compliance
January 5, 2026
Joint Transport Commissioner A. Mohan said on Sunday that wearing a helmet is a responsibility, not a burden. Special checks were done near the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium on Bandar Road against riders without helmets. Mr. Mohan told the crowd that helmets act like protective shields, reducing injury severity during accidents. He mentioned a month-long helmet-awareness program by the Transport Department to educate riders. "Every year, hundreds lose their lives riding without helmets," he stated. Mr. Mohan warned that riders without helmets will face strict action, including cases registered and license cancellation. He urged all two-wheeler riders to wear helmets to protect themselves and their families.
