Suryakiran Aerobatic Team to Perform at Wings India 2026, Hyderabad on Jan 28-29
January 5, 2026
Hyderabad gears up for an exciting show as the Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) is set to perform stunning aerobatic demonstrations on January 28 and 29 at Begumpet Airport. These back-to-back displays are part of the Wings India 2026 event and promise to draw large crowds.
The schedule was confirmed in SKAT’s monthly performance calendar. The team, known as the Ambassadors of the Indian Air Force, has flown in Hyderabad before but this is a rare chance to catch them on two consecutive days.
Formed in 1966 and based at Bidar Air Force Station, the Suryakiran team flies the BAE Hawk Mk.132 aircraft. It consists of 13 pilots, with 9 performing at any show. Over decades, SKAT has earned praise for its precision and perfect teamwork, impressing audiences across India and beyond.
Wings India is Asia’s largest civil aviation exhibition, held every two years at Begumpet Airport. The event showcases India’s aviation sector and is organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The 2026 edition runs from January 28 to 31.
At a 2025 launch event, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu shared the theme: “Indian Aviation: Paving the Future from Design to Deployment, Manufacturing to Maintenance, Inclusivity to Innovation and Safety to Sustainability.”
Samir Kumar Sinha, Secretary of the Ministry, said Wings India 2026 will promote advanced air mobility including drones and electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOLs). This highlights the event’s push toward future aviation technologies.
Last year, the Indian Air Force’s Sarang Helicopter Display Team wowed spectators at Wings India 2024. This year, the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team will continue Hyderabad’s tradition of top-tier aerial shows and attract aviation lovers once again.
