On January 5, 2026, a Delhi court sent Yasir Ahmed Dar to 11-day judicial custody until January 16. Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna ordered this after Dar was produced in court. Earlier, the court had extended Dar's NIA custody for 10 days on December 26, 2025. The National Investigating Agency arrested Dar on December 18, identifying him as the ninth accused in the Red Fort blast case. According to the NIA, Dar is a resident of Jammu and Kashmir and was closely linked with Umar-un-Nabi, the suicide bomber who detonated an explosive-laden car near the Red Fort on November 10. The blast killed 15 people and injured many others. The NIA stated, "Mr. Dar allegedly played an active role in the conspiracy behind the blast." It also mentioned Dar maintained close contact with other accused, including Umar-un-Nabi and Mufti Irfan.
