Hampton Inn Minnesota Refuses ICE Agents; Hilton Condemns Discrimination
January 6, 2026
The Hampton Inn by Hilton in Lakeville, Minnesota recently denied reservations to ICE and DHS agents. The hotel was bought last year for $15 million by four Indian partners: Parmjit Singh, Amanpreet Hundal, Karandeep Nagra, and Mohinderjeet Kaur. These details come from public records and state filings.
Emails shared by ICE and DHS officials showed hotel staff saying, “We have noticed an influx of GOV reservations made today that have been for DHS, and we are not allowing any ICE or immigration agents to stay at our property,” and “Please pass on this info to your coworkers that we are not allowing any immigration agents to house on our property.”
Hilton, which the hotel is linked to but is independently owned, told FOX Business that such actions do not reflect Hilton’s values. A Hilton spokesperson said, “Hilton hotels serve as welcoming places for all. This hotel is independently owned and operated, and the actions referenced are not reflective of Hilton values.” They added that the staff had apologized and the hotel had taken immediate action. “Hilton’s position is clear: Our properties are open to everyone and we do not tolerate any form of discrimination.”
The hotel’s management company, Everpeak Hospitality, said it is working with affected guests to ensure they are accommodated. They apologized for the incident and said, “We do not discriminate against any individuals or agencies.”
The controversy highlights Hilton’s past stance. In 2020, Hilton publicly opposed using its hotels for immigration detention.
DHS assistant secretary Tricia McLaughlin condemned the hotel’s actions. She said, “Hilton has launched a coordinated campaign in Minneapolis to REFUSE service to DHS law enforcement. When officers attempted to book rooms using official government emails and rates, Hilton Hotels maliciously CANCELLED their reservations. This is UNACCEPTABLE.”
Hilton continues to investigate and is working with the hotel to ensure compliance with its policies.
