January 6, 2026
The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Yarlagadda Srinivas Rao, tahsildar of Nagireddypet mandal, on Tuesday. He was caught demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹50,000. The bribe was taken from a complainant in a land transfer case in Kamareddy district. ACB said the money was for submitting a favourable report to authorities to help transfer agricultural land from the complainant's father to him. The officer was trapped with the help of a private individual named Chinoori Ajay. Both the tahsildar and Ajay were arrested and will be produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally, Hyderabad. The investigation is ongoing. ACB urged people to report any bribe demands by government officials. Citizens can contact ACB through its toll-free number 1064 or via official social media channels. Officials assured that the identity of complainants will be kept strictly confidential.
