An Indian student, Hari Karasani from Andhra Pradesh, has been reported missing in Alaska during his solo trip. The Alaska State Troopers issued a bulletin asking for information on his whereabouts. Hari was last seen leaving the Aurora Denali Lodge in Healy on December 31, 2025. His family last spoke with him on December 30. He traveled from Houston, Texas on December 22, telling friends he would return by January 3 or 4. After December 31, his phone was switched off. His roommates thought it was due to poor network but raised concerns since there was a disputed Lyft transaction on his credit card and no financial activity since. Friends say temperatures in the Denali area dropped to 40°F, Hari doesn’t know how to drive, and no activity has been reported. In a separate tragic case, Nikitha, another Indian student reported missing in Maryland, was found dead in her ex-roommate's flat. Arjun Sharma, the accused, fled to India and was arrested. Nikitha’s father stated, "Sharma was never her boyfriend," but a former roommate who borrowed money from her. When Nikitha asked for the money back, Sharma stabbed her to death and fled, he said.
