Telangana faced chilly weather as minimum temperatures fell sharply. The coldest spot was Tiryani in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, where the temperature dropped to 5.9℃ between January 7 and 8. This was colder than the 6.3℃ recorded the previous day at the same place. In total, 16 districts in the state recorded temperatures below 10℃. Kohir in Sangareddy followed closely with 6.2℃. Even urban areas felt the bite of cold, with Moinabad in Rangareddy at 7.5℃, Uppal in Medchal Malkajgiri at 9.5℃, and Maredpally in Hyderabad at 11.3℃. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a bulletin on Wednesday forecasting that minimum temperatures are likely to remain 2℃ to 4℃ below normal in isolated pockets over Telangana for the next two days. Residents have been wrapping up tightly to stay warm as the cold snap shows no signs of letting up.
