Yelahanka Police Arrest Two for Encroaching Govt Land in Bengaluru's Kogilu Village

On January 7, Yelahanka police arrested two men for illegal land encroachment at Fakir Colony in Kogilu village, north Bengaluru. The accused, Waseem Baig (55) and Vijay Kumar (36), were found guilty of occupying government land and building sheds without permission. The Greater Bengaluru Authority removed the illegal structures after complaints. The police registered a case under the Land Grabbing Prohibition Act. Investigation revealed that Baig and Kumar had actively participated in the land grab. Both were sent to court and placed in 14 days of police custody for further inquiry. Police continue probing to find other individuals involved in the encroachment.
