AP High Court Orders Fast Probe Into TTD Officer Satish Kumar's Death, Flags Parakamani Theft Issues
January 8, 2026
The Andhra Pradesh High Court has demanded that the CID hurry up the probe into the mysterious death of Y. Satish Kumar, former Assistant Vigilance and Security Officer (AVSO) of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). The court made this request during the hearing of the Parakamani theft case on Thursday. It warned it will keep a close watch on the investigation once the charge-sheet is filed.
The court also criticized the TTD and police for allegedly weakening the Parakamani theft case by collaborating with the prime accused, C.V. Ravi Kumar. It said the TTD Trust Board and officials did not follow standard rules while accepting donations to the Lord Venkateswara temple from Ravi Kumar, who reportedly held assets beyond his known income.
Additionally, the High Court ordered the TTD and police to take disciplinary action against those involved in the foreign currency theft. It also asked the TTD Executive Officer to submit a plan focusing on modernizing the counting and valuation of offerings made to the Lord.
This strong direction from the High Court aims to bring transparency and justice in a case that has raised many questions about TTD officials and their integrity.
