Hanamkonda Youth Unite Against Drug Abuse in Vibrant Roadshow
January 8, 2026
Central Zone DCP Dhara Kavitha said drug abuse is not only a personal problem but a serious social threat. She joined a strong anti-drug awareness programme organized by Sumathi Reddy Institute of Engineering for Women at Ananthasagar. The event included a roadshow near Public Gardens, Hanamkonda, where students drew public attention to the risks of drugs. The DCP warned, “Intoxicating substances are destroying the future, health, and family life of our youth.” Principal Rajasri Reddy said schools must teach more than books. "Teaching traditions, respect, self-control, and harmony can safeguard youth from going astray," she said. Subedari Circle Inspector Ranjith praised the effort, saying it shows young people stand united against drugs. The programme saw active involvement from department heads, AO Venugopalaswamy, faculty members, and students. This public display sends a clear message: the youth of Hanamkonda are fighting drug abuse together.
