People in Telangana’s urban districts felt the chill as minimum temperatures dropped below 10°C. In Ranga Reddy, Serlingampally recorded 7.4°C, while Uppal in Medchal Malkajgiri had 8.8°C between Thursday and Friday mornings. Hyderabad’s minimum temperature was 11.2°C in Maredpally, according to the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS). Across the state, Kohir in Sangareddy had the lowest at 5.6°C, followed by Tiryani in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad at 6.0°C and Rangareddy at 7.4°C. Earlier this winter, the coldest was 4.5°C in December. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts temperatures 2°C to 4°C below normal for the next two days. They also warn, “Mist or hazy conditions are very likely to prevail during morning or night hours” in Hyderabad and surrounding areas for 48 hours.
