On January 9, 2026, Prasar Bharati launched ‘Creator’s Corner’ on DD News. This new platform will showcase content from digital creators across India. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, "2026 would be the year of major reforms for Prasar Bharati." He added that these changes will help Doordarshan and All India Radio become more tech-driven and interest new-generation creators and industry players. The launch marks the first step in this reform journey. Mr. Vaishnaw referred to the WAVES platform introduced last year, which added one crore youth to the creator economy and generated around ₹5,000 crore in value. Union Minister of State for I&B L. Murugan called ‘Creator’s Corner’ a "significant step in empowering India’s growing community of content creators." He noted that creators from small towns now produce and share content independently, building livelihoods without big studios. Doordarshan will now offer them a strong national and global platform. I&B Secretary Sanjay Jaju said the initiative recognizes creators as complete content makers and will build a vibrant and responsible creator ecosystem. ‘Creator’s Corner’ will air on DD News at 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, with a repeat at 9:30 a.m. It will feature four to six short videos covering news, culture, travel, cuisine, art, music, health, education, science, inspirational stories, environment, and entertainment. This partnership benefits both sides. Digital creators gain a credible stage and wide reach through Prasar Bharati and DD News, while the public broadcaster sources fresh, innovative content that appeals to younger audiences.
