On Thursday, the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha's district unit protested at Gursunagi Village Cross in Wadagera taluk, Yadgir district. They demanded immediate action against officers of the T. Wadagera Gram Panchayat. These officers are accused of distributing houses under a housing scheme to ineligible beneficiaries. The protesting farmers said they had repeatedly sent appeals, memorandums, and reminders to the Wadagera Taluk Panchayat, the Tahsildar, and the Zilla Panchayat. They included detailed records of misusing public money and irregularities in the house distribution. Still, no action has been taken so far. The farmers further stated that the officers involved in these irregularities threatened them after they filed complaints with higher authorities. The farmers warned, "The farmers organisations will no longer tolerate such mismanagement by the officers and will launch more agitations in the future if action is not taken against those involved." The protesters also raised concerns about rural cleanliness, pointing out that drains in many villages remain dirty. They fear this could lead to an epidemic. Later, the protesters gave a memorandum to the Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat, Lavish Ordia. They ended the protest after he assured them of taking action. Those who joined the protest include district president Sharanu Mandarwad, Mallikarjun Satyampet, Malkanna Chinti, Prabhakar Reddy, Bhimanna Naik, Mallanna Neelahalli, Fakir Ahmed, Bhimaraya Yelheri, and Balaji T. Wadagera. This protest highlights growing unrest among farmers seeking justice and cleaner villages in Yadgir.
