A speeding luxury car crashed into pedestrians near Kharabas Circle in Jaipur's Patrakar Colony on the night of January 9, 2026. One person died and 15 others were injured. The car first hit a divider, lost control, and smashed roadside stalls and food carts over a 30-metre stretch before stopping. Several parked vehicles were also damaged. Police said four people were inside the car, all allegedly intoxicated. One occupant has been detained while the others fled. The vehicle was seized. All injured were taken to Jaipuria Hospital for initial treatment. Eight patients were admitted, while others went to private hospitals or returned home. One injured man, Ramesh Bairwa from Bhilwara, died during treatment. Four critically injured victims were moved to Sawai Man Singh Hospital. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed grief and asked officials to ensure proper care for the injured. Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar visited Jaipuria Hospital to check on the patients. The incident caused panic in the area.
