The Central University of Karnataka (CUK), Kalaburagi, has started the admission process for its undergraduate programmes for the academic year 2026-27 through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Vice-Chancellor Prof. Battu Satyanarayana announced that online applications began on January 3, 2026, and will close on January 31, 2026, at 11:50 p.m. Interested candidates must apply through the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) official website. The CUET (UG) exam is tentatively set for May 11 to 31, 2026. It will be held in computer-based test (CBT) mode at 15 centres across Karnataka. Candidates can correct their uploaded documents between February 2 and 4 until 11:50 p.m. CUK offers admission to 15 undergraduate courses covering 36 subjects. These include 13 languages, 23 domain-specific subjects based on the NCERT syllabus, and one general aptitude test. Students can choose up to five subjects, including languages and aptitude tests, regardless of their Class 12 subjects. On seat availability, Prof. Satyanarayana said the intake is about 60 seats each for B.Tech, BBA, and B.A.LLB programmes, and 40 seats each for B.A. and B.Sc courses. Reservations are available for Scheduled Castes, Economically Weaker Sections, the Kalyana Karnataka region quota, NCC/NSS/sports quota, Jammu and Kashmir migrants, children of defence personnel, and persons with disabilities. Students appearing for the PU exams in 2026 are eligible to apply. The university’s Registrar R.R. Biradar and Controller of Examinations Kota Sai Krishna were present at the press conference.
