Sharp Cold Hits Punjab and Haryana, Temperatures Dip Below Average

On Sunday, January 11, 2026, Punjab and Haryana faced intense cold weather. Minimum temperatures fell below the season's average. Bathinda was the coldest place in Punjab at 1.6 degrees Celsius. In Haryana, Hisar recorded the lowest temperature of 2.2 degrees Celsius. Morning fog reduced visibility in some parts of both states. Faridkot in Punjab saw a chilling low of 2.9 degrees Celsius. Ludhiana, Patiala, Amritsar, and Gurdaspur had minimums of 4.6, 3.8, 3.2, and 3.8 degrees Celsius, respectively. Chandigarh, the shared capital, experienced 5 degrees Celsius at night. In Haryana, Narnaul was coldest at 3 degrees Celsius. Ambala, Faridabad, and Rohtak also faced harsh cold with lows of 5.5, 4.2, and 4 degrees Celsius, respectively.
