Nellore police arrested two people linked to a car theft gang on Monday. The gang reportedly stole cars from Delhi, Maharashtra, and Haryana, then brought them to Nellore for sale. Police seized five stolen cars valued at about ₹1.20 crore. Superintendent of Police Ajitha Vejendla said, "Dargamitta police arrested a gang involved in stealing cars from other States and bringing them to Nellore and surrounding areas for sale." A special team led by Dargamitta Circle Inspector detained two suspects during a vehicle check at Annamayya Circle. The arrested men are identified as Thupili Siva from Nellore Town and Paravastu Lakshman Kumar from Atmakur. Police are still searching for the main accused. The gang changed original number plates and attached Andhra Pradesh and Telangana registration numbers. They also sold the cars here using fake documents, police revealed.
