Telangana's 'Celebrate the Sky' Kicks Off in Secunderabad with Kite and Sweet Festival
January 13, 2026
Telangana Government launched its ‘Celebrate the Sky’ event on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, with the International Kite and Sweet Festival at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad, starting at 4 p.m. Visitors came early with family from the afternoon to enjoy the festivities. The Kite Festival runs from January 13 to 15, open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. A giant whale-shaped kite caught everyone’s eye as it soared high in the sky. Professional kite flyers from 19 countries and 55 Indian states are showcasing their skills. A press note said, “Visitors can expect to see massive and uniquely designed kites, with night kite-flying sessions emerging as a major attraction.” Near the kite area, food stalls were busy serving visitors. The Sweet Festival, organised with Culture Language Indian Connections, featured traditional sweets from across India. Health facilities like a medical camp and drinking water were also available. Besides the Parade Grounds, kite festivals will also take place at lakes restored by Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA). Hot Air Balloon and Drone Festivals are part of the ‘Celebrate the Sky’ activities too. The event promises fun, flavours, and fantastic views for all.
