Four drug peddlers were arrested and 29 kgs of ganja worth about ₹14.5 lakh were seized in two coordinated operations by Telangana's Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Force and local police in Kukatpally and Mahabubabad. In Kukatpally, two men were caught transporting 21 kgs of ganja from Hyderabad to Pune. After a tip-off, police kept watch near metro pillar no. 800 towards Miyapur and stopped the suspects before they boarded a bus to Pune. The two bags held 21 kgs of ganja valued around ₹10.5 lakh. The arrested were Sachin Dilip Ranavare, 37, a driver from Saswad Rural in Pune district, and Laukik Ganesh Raut, 21, a painter from Purandhar in Pune district. Ranavare was previously arrested in a ganja case and had resumed drug trafficking after bail. They bought the ganja on January 12 from Berhampur in Odisha and concealed it in their luggage. Both men were handed to Kukatpally police. Investigators are tracing their supply chain. In Mahabubabad, Warangal's EAGLE Force and Mahabubabad Town police intercepted two men at a bus stand with 8 kgs of ganja worth about ₹4 lakh. The men, Venu and Anil, both 25 from Raghavapur in Peddapalli district, acted as carriers in a larger trafficking network. They collected the ganja on January 11 from Kalimela in college bags. Police are searching for their handler Naveen. The seized drugs and accused were handed over to Mahabubabad police for further action.
