Indian Coast Guard Seizes Pakistani Fishing Boat Near Maritime Boundary

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) seized a Pakistani fishing boat with nine crew members inside Indian waters near the International Maritime Boundary Line. The incident happened on January 14, 2026, in the Arabian Sea. The boat, named Al-Madina, tried to flee toward Pakistan when challenged. But the ICG ship intercepted and boarded it. The boat is now being towed to Porbandar for a thorough search and joint questioning of the crew by relevant agencies. Gujarat Defence PRO Wing Commander Abhishek Kumar Tiwari posted on X, "In a swift and precise night operation, an Indian Coast Guard ship, while on patrol in the Arabian Sea, sighted a Pakistani fishing boat inside Indian waters near the notional International Maritime Boundary Line on January 14, 2026." He added, "However, the ICG ship intercepted and boarded the boat in Indian waters. A total of nine crew members were found on board the Pakistani boat, Al-Madina." The operation highlights ICG’s strong commitment to guarding India’s maritime borders with constant watch and law enforcement.
