Hyderabad traffic police have announced that most flyovers in the city, including those along Necklace Road, will close on the night of Friday, January 16, to Saturday, January 17, 2026. The closure starts after 10 p.m. on Friday and continues through the night for Shab-e-Meraj, also called Jagne Ki Raat. The move aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety during the religious event. However, Greenland’s Flyover, the P.V. Narasimha Rao Expressway, and Langar Houz flyovers will remain open to commuters. The police said that Telugu Talli, Shaikpet, Manmohan Singh, and Bahadurpura X road flyovers might be closed depending on traffic and crowd conditions. Commuters were advised to plan travel in advance, use alternate routes, and cooperate with the traffic police. Authorities urged motorists to follow updates on Hyderabad traffic police’s official social media channels. For emergencies, citizens can call the traffic police helpline at 9010203626. Police will closely monitor the situation overnight and enforce diversions as needed to protect public safety. The advisory was issued on January 16, 2026, at 3:45 pm IST.
